About BBB School Of Baking
The Art of Baking by Bruce
Situated in the heart of Boksburg, BBB School of Baking is privileged to offer baking courses from Beyers Bungalow. This historical Victorian home was built in the year 1895 and was the original home of Frederik Christiaan Beyers. Frederik Beyers was commissioned by President Paul Kruger to establish order in the mining town of Boksburg in the 1800’s, where during this time Frederik Beyers and his wife Matilda started the first school for children. When the Boer war broke out, Beyers became a general in the South African Boer Army. He was the liaison officer in the signing of the Vereeniging peace treaty. Beyers was ambushed along the Vaal River and shot where his body was dumped in the river. It has been said that Beyers and his men were mistaken for the Foster Gang.
I bought Beyers Bungalow in 1995 and restored it to this wonderful land mark. As I have a passion for baking and I love sharing my experience and knowledge with others, I have decided to use the old Barn as a small training centre for baking classes. Keeping it as rustic as possible, I have managed to give attention to detail giving each learner/delegate a unique and tranquil space to learn the art of baking & experience a part of history.
My aim with BBB School of Baking is to teach basics in baking as well as up skill people in the art and craft of baking. Courses will range from Breads to cakes and pastries as well as decadent desserts for family and friends.
All the classes or courses offered are “Hands on” this means one must be prepared to get their hands messy and dirty (Per Sè) which allows each person to experience and feel exactly how and why it should be made that way...
I will also be offering Team Building for companies.
I am passionate about teaching and baking and I would suggest that if you want to learn to bake and create, that you bring along your baggage full of PASSION!
